Two new non-executive directors join the DVSA board

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency has two new faces on its board, following appointments made by Heidi Alexander, the Secretary of State for Transport.

The DVSA oversees driving tests, MOT standards and vehicle safety enforcement across the UK, so who sits on its board has a real bearing on how those services are run and developed. Non-executive directors bring outside experience to bear on the agency's decisions, providing scrutiny and challenge alongside the executive team.

The Transport Secretary made the appointments in her capacity as the minister responsible for the DVSA. No further details about the individuals or their backgrounds have been confirmed at this stage.
