New Audi A2 e-tron brings back a compact efficiency icon
Audi has revived the A2 nameplate as an all-electric city car, with deliveries expected from December 2026 and prices starting at 38,200 euros.
Audi has brought back one of its most recognisable nameplates in fully electric form, launching the A2 e-tron as a compact, efficiency-focused EV aimed squarely at urban and everyday drivers. According to multiple reports, the car channels the spirit of the original A2 -- known for its light weight and low running costs -- into a modern battery-electric package with genuinely impressive range figures.
The new model is built on the updated version of the Volkswagen Group's MEB platform, known internally as MEB+, which underpins a growing range of electric vehicles across the group. Production is already under way at Audi's factory in Ingolstadt, Germany, and the company has confirmed that customer deliveries will begin in December 2026.
According to multiple reports, the A2 e-tron is capable of up to 401 miles of range on a single charge, which would place it well above many rivals in the compact EV segment.
